Almondside – CCG Construction
Project case study – M Squared
Development: Almond Valley is a new build, 66-bed luxury care home in Almondside, Livingston.
Service overview: Soft landscaping & fencing – installing timber fencing and planters, turfing, and planting 1,500 sq m surrounding the development.
Project requirements: The developers wanted to create a “peaceful sanctuary” surrounding the care home, with a “private and secure” courtyard and communal garden featuring a variety of plants and trees, raised planters, seating, and accessible pathways.
“We were able to start on site in early June 2024, ahead of the care home opening in August.”
“We knew this was to be a luxury offering for over-65s with different physical and care needs so the client wanted a safe, accessible and quality finish.”
“As the last guys on site we had a quick turn around to get the works completed ahead of Building Control coming in. Once on site we could see its nuances and make suggestions to ensure the area would be as suitable as possible for the care home residents.”
“We recommended where some additional landscaping could remove some potentially tricky slopes, and where additional fencing could make the courtyard feel more safe and secure.”
“As we were planting outside of tree planting season, we’d already advised the client that container grown trees would be essential, too.”
“We’ve built our relationship with CCG over the years so that kind of conversation and collaboration can happen.”
